Are You an Honorable Vessel?

Early this morning as I was sipping on my morning coffee and praying, I heard this statement so plain and clear in my spirit. “Are you an honorable vessel?”

As it should be, I am always challenged by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He is always lovingly directing us to come higher spiritually so that we can continue to grow in Him. This morning isn’t like others though as I have been challenged to humble myself before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I am nothing, I am imperfect and only made worthy to carry His Name because of what Jesus did for me. Without His sacrificial blood I am doomed to hell and frankly, so are you…

Oh, I know that’s a harsh statement. But, the Bible compels me to tell you the whole truth.

Jesus came to die so that we might become saved. You cannot and will not ever be saved on your own. Sometimes we have to revisit the basics and remember why we are saved. It is only through grace, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.

Honorable Leadership is Key

As this Holy Spirit prompted statement continues to encircle my thoughts this morning I realize all the more how messed up the church world is. I know God is grieved by the worldly things happening in the church. Many go to church and many claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior without true transformation. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17.

I do not see the dedication and true passion like I once did from the church. Especially in leadership. This is where the true issue lies. This is not directed to any certain ministry or church body. It is about the church world as a whole.

Sold out, anointed leadership is bankrupt in the church world. Solid, unmovable belief in Jesus has been forfeited for stale, worldly, self-seeking religion. This grieves my heart and it should move the hearts of other Jesus-followers as well. We should pray and fast for a move of God to sweep this nation so that the Holy Spirit can wash away all the confusion caused by this devilish religion.

Our leadership should be so passionate, so on fire, and so moved by the world of lost sinners that we weep on a continual basis for them to flock our churches like never before. But, we have to set ourselves apart for this to happen. We cannot expect the unsaved or backslidden to catch our flame if we aren’t on fire ourselves. We have to be hungry, we have to be blameless, we have to be passionate about our Jesus, and we have to stop claiming to be something we aren’t!

This has been a major tactic of the devil for years. He causes utter confusion in the church world that sends many people back out the doors heartbroken. Confusion is never from God. Leadership needs not to be led by self, but by God. This has been a broken system for many years now.

Now is the Time to be Sold Out

Now is the time to get serious if you are in leadership. Even if you aren’t in leadership within the church, if you claim Jesus as your Lord please pray on a continual basis for Him to teach you how to live. You are an example if you claim HIS name, everywhere you go! Too many have made Jesus look terrible by construing His word. Be one to claim HIS name and live it by biblical standards. Don’t be another saddening statistic of the “dying” church world. Please don’t be the cause of more hurt, confusion, and pain. But, don’t wear your feelings on your shoulders either. Offense is also from hell.

I’m not saying you have to be perfect but, come to the realization and true love of God so that He’ll give you the ability to live as He did. Read and sponge in His word on a daily basis, pray, and fast when prompted of Him. Be like Him and watch others flock to you. You don’t need a title to be like HIM. You are a son or daughter of Christ and that is the most valuable name you could be called!

It is time to make Father God proud by showing His light to those around us. It is time to witness the coming harvest. The body of Christ needs you! Get things right, wash yourself in His sacrificial blood and be prepared for what is about ready to shake this land!

To those who are disheartened and even broken by the adulterous acts of the enemy within the church, I beg you to pray and seek God for the next direction for your life. Like a Pastor friend of mine used to say, “People did not die for you, Jesus did!” God will heal you if you hand your heart over to Him. Let Him put the broken pieces back together and make your hurt into a glorious testimony. You too could help others find healing.

Then, buckle your seatbelt for what is to come because God’s glory is sweeping this land!

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:” Acts 2:17
